1. Shoes

  • Yes: Proceed to step 2.
  • No: Ask if there is a significant height difference between the sole of the shoes currently worn and their most frequently worn pair.
    – Yes: Take the customer’s shoe sole height into account during the measurement. The walking cane will be adjusted based on the shoes currently worn. If the customer frequently wears shoes with a different sole height, point this out to them. Then proceed to step 2.
    – No: Proceed to step 2.

2. Posture for Measurement:

Have the customer stand upright, with arms
relaxed loosely alongside the body and slightly
bent (see image)

  • Feet together at shoulder width.

3. Measuring wrist height

Measure the wrist height from the ground using a ruler or measuring tape.

The ideal height for the walking cane is at the top of the wrist (see image).

The wrist bone is a good reference point.

4. Enter the height

Enter the measured height there to determine to what size the tube should be shortened.

5. Open the packaging

Open the packaging of the Walking Cane – tailormade and take the tube and handle out of the box. (see image)

6. Preparation for assembly

  • Take the threadlocker from the assembly kit.
  • Apply 2 drops of threadlocker to the threads inside the tube. Be careful not to use too much, as it may get on the handle or outside of the tube. (see image)

7. Assemble the handle

  • Screw the handle of the walking cane firmly onto the tube (note: the threaded side must be screwed into the tube).
  • Tighten the handle securely. (see image
  • Ensure that after tightening the handle, the adhesive has enough time to cure (approximately 12 hours).
  • Advise that the tube or handle should not be turned any further after assembly.

8. Mark the calculated height

Use the result from the website to mark the measured height on the tube (measured from the bottom of the tube, the side with the CE
logo and factory details). (See image).

9. Cutting the tube

Use the tube cutter to cut the tube at the marked location. Place the blade on the mark, tighten the clamp, and rotate the tube around the cutter to cut through the tube. (see image)

  • Turn two short rotations, then rotate the cutter completely around.
  • Repeat until the tube is completely cut through.

10. Check for burrs

After cutting, check if there are any burrs on the underside of the tube. These can be removed with a deburring tool if necessary.

13. Attach the rubber tip

14. Cleaning

Clean the walking cane with a microfiber cloth to remove any possible fingerprints. (see image)

15. Testing by the customer

Have the customer test whether the walking cane meets their expectations. (see image)

Tips/Advice:

  • If the customer wants the walking cane to be longer, this is possible but not recommended. A cane that is too short can cause uneven
walking, which may lead to back and shoulder problems over time.
  • Do not tighten the blade of the tube cutter too much. This can bend the tube of the walking cane or damage the blade.
